„Coraz to mniej rzeczy warto mówić”. Korespondencja Leo Lipskiego z Michałem Chmielowcem

The article is a reconstruction of the life of Leo Lipski and Michał Chmielowiec, who corresponded for nearly three decades, from 1946 to 1974. It complements the correspondence, which lacks many biographical details or refers to them in a way comprehensible solely to the two men. The author presents the biographical background, highlighting the similarities of the two men’s experiences in their childhood, student days, as well as the time when they escaped to the east, and other events. However, the author also shows how their lives differed after 1942: the sick and paralyzed Lipski got stuck in Israel, whereas Chmielowiec finally settled in London. Nevertheless, since writing was very important to both of them, they continued to write letters to each other.Tekst jest rekonstrukcją biografii Leo Lipskiego i Michała Chmielowca prowadzących ze sobą korespondencję przez trzy dekady – od 1946 do 1974 r. Stanowi uzupełnienie owej korespondencji, która nie zawiera wielu szczegółów biograficznych lub wspomina o nich w sposób zrozumiały tylko dla autorów. Autorka zarysowuje tło biograficzne, wskazujące na dość podobne doświadczenia korespondentów we wczesnym dzieciństwie, okresie studiów, a także chwili ucieczki na wschód i dalszych losów. Jak wskazuje autorka tekstu, po 1942 r. ich życie przybrało jednak różny obrót – chory i sparaliżowany Lipski utknął w Izraelu, Chmielowiec zaś ostatecznie osiadł w Londynie, niemniej z uwagi na fakt, że obaj na stałe byli związani z pisaniem, utrzymywali bliską relację korespondencyjną
